Printing the label and handing the parcel over

Printing the label and handing the parcel over

The order is paid, and the parcel is not going anywhere until a courier is booked. This is the part between an order arriving and the courier having it in hand.

Step 1. Find the order

Open Orders. It opens on To Ship, which holds everything paid and not yet collected. Inside that tab the orders are grouped by what they are waiting for. Awaiting Shipment means no courier is booked yet. Awaiting Collection means one is booked and the label already exists.

Step 2. Arrange the shipment

Press Arrange Shipment. The dialog shows Collection Method, with Drop-off and Pickup side by side, and it tells you whether the order is Domestic or International.

You do not choose between the two. The destination decides it, and the right one is already selected. A domestic order is always Drop-off, with Pickup greyed out. An order going abroad is always Pickup, with Drop-off greyed out. This is a screen to read, not one to decide on.

Drop-off, so any order staying in Malaysia, means you take the parcel to a collection point. A Drop-off locations button opens the list of points for that courier. You are not choosing one here. It is there so you can see where they are before you leave the house.

Pickup, so any order leaving the country, means the courier comes to you. It shows your Pickup Location, which is the shop address you saved and is not editable here, and a Pickup Date. The date is the one thing on this screen you fill in, and the booking will not go through without it. If you have no shop address saved it reads No shop location set, and you will need to add one in your settings before a courier can collect from you.

Then press Arrange Shipment inside the dialog. That books the courier and pays for it, so treat it as the point the order stops being yours to undo. Once the parcel has been collected it can no longer be cancelled.

Step 3. Print the documents

With a booking in place the order shows Print Shipping Label. It opens Print shipping documents, where you pick what comes out of the printer.

  • Shipping label (A6). The courier's label. This is the one that has to be on the outside of the parcel.
  • Packing List (A6). What is in the box. This one goes inside it.
  • Commercial Invoice (A4). International orders only.

Press Print documents and they open in a new tab, ready to print.

If you booked several orders together you land on the Shipping Label page instead.

It tells you how many labels were created and prints the batch in one go.

Step 4. Printing it again costs nothing

After the first print the button becomes a Printed badge, and later prints are counted beside it. Pressing it again gives you Label already printed and Print again. Nothing is rebooked and nothing is charged twice. The label is already paid for, so a jammed printer costs you paper and nothing else.

Step 5. On an international order, sign the invoice

An international order carries its own reminder on the label screen, and a third checkbox that a domestic order does not have. Print the courier's Commercial Invoice as well, sign it, and attach it to the parcel in a transparent pouch so customs can take it out without opening the box.

Step 6. Hand it over, then leave the status alone

Drop the parcel at the point you picked, or have it packed and waiting on the pickup date.

From there the status is not yours to move. The courier moves it, from Awaiting Collection to Shipped when the parcel is scanned, and to Delivered when it arrives. There is no button to mark an order shipped yourself. A Track link appears on the order once the courier issues a tracking number, and it is the same tracking your buyer is looking at.

Payment is held under Berkedai Protected until the order is delivered, then settled to you. Delivery is what releases it, which is one more reason the courier's scan matters more than anything you could press.
